When spanking someone, or being spanked by someone, in a spanking type scenario do you prefer it to be soft or hard or somewhere in between? The poll is focused on spanking and not a punishment scenario. You may pick up to three answers.

I think, before you can say what a good result from a spanking should be, you need to ask why the spanking was administered.  Was it a playful spanking, or was it for punishment?  Or was it maybe a punishment that led to a reward for taking said punishment well?  A playful spanking should be expressed as such, and would hopefully lead to a happy acceptance and further fun activities.  A punishment spanking should lead to a desire on the part of the spanked to never draw such a punishment again  Not that it should be harsh or unduly painful.  A punishment spanking, even a light one, should focus more on the mental and emotional aspects of the punishment, the disappointment that led to said punishment.  As in all other things, a punishment spanking should never be delivered out of anger.  A punishment leading to a reward should have the same effect as a punishment spanking, while at the same time making it clear that being punished does not in any way make the spanker think or feel less of the spankee.

You're right Lobo...the way I originally posed the question and poll was vague as to the reason for the spanking. I guess because I associate 'spanking' to be more of a play-type scenario and flogging, whipping, caning, or stropping to be more on the disciplinary side I (like usual and we all know what it leads to) assumed everyone else did too. My original idea had to do with a play-spank situation.

As for me...I like some pretty hard spanking. Enough to know that I have been spanked. Nicely red and welts and some occasional bruising can be quite exciting. I just wish I had someone to help me do it today. It is pretty difficult to give yourself a downright proper spank.

I like to deliver playfully but for it to be felt and so it can be seen where I've been

Mostly I like the element of surprise so punishment is never a reason I delver a blow. I like to use 'found objects' and see what reaction they get.
