Wrapped in plaster

A while ago there was this story where people were wrapped in plaster for their god/deity. The lucky (or unlucky) victim happened to be their xth number, which was special. Therefore he was wrapped in a ridiculous amount of layers of plaster.

Anyone remember this story?
