A warning to anyone who reads all of Narelle's Discovery. The very end of the story is a bit confusing.
On purpose...
My intention was to make something interesting that readers could puzzle over, maybe re-read, and work out for themselves a theory of what really happens.
However, you might need this clue to put you on the right track (on reflection, this could have been made clearer in the story):
Would Narelle want to tell the truth at the end? Rather than explaining things, she may intend to mislead, for purposes of her own.If that doesn't clarify things sufficiently, there's a Halloween story of mine from 2015 called
Rica's Secret Halloween. It's a bit of an odd story, but if you've finished other stories of mine, you might enjoy it. In that story, one of the characters truthfully explains a chunk of missing information from
Narelle's Discovery to Bea.
I intended to bring Narelle back in a Halloween story for 2016, but I didn't get the chance. Maybe 2017?
