With so many stories and authors on the Plaza, it's easy to get lost in the crowd. I wanted to highlight an author--and a story in particular--that is not only top-notch but also was a big part of my development. Before I had the bravery to submit my own work, I lurked and read in the background.

I came back to "The Ice Fall" again and again, and read many other works by Ms. Bonici as well.

I see work of hers from 2008 but no later. I wish she was still active on the Plaza so I could thank her in person.

You're very right, PP - this story is indeed a beauty

No cluttering the sheet with excess details -  yet all that's needed is included. Even in this short form the story manages to pull me along.
