A woman discovers a government survival program with a suit underground

[MPW]

As far as I remember the story is similar to Karen: The Pod, but in this one the woman discovers an underground room/bunker/fallout shelter under her house. Something with a dark glass cylinder wherein a suit is suspended in restraints. There is a console nearby which controls all the settings. Apparently some international crisis is brewing unbeknownst to our protagonist who tries sealing herself in the suit for longer and longer, eventually shaving her head bald to better fit in the hood/helmet of the suit. When the missiles eventually begin flying and the bombs dropping, she hurries downstairs, the console is lit up with some message from the government to enter the cylinder. She seals herself into the system for an unknown future.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks!
