Thank you! It was good to dive back into the story. I'm not sure about the beating-the-stuffings-out-of-him part but well, it did make sense given the situation. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I note that #2 has a nice, level ending -- you could go for further adventures or just let it be. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for your comments. I like ending stories on a light note, everybody's OK, there's little tension left hanging. I saw the minor injury as a vehicle to get us quickly from "Angry about what you did" to "Can't stay mad at you."
For me this pair of stories has reached a comfortable spot, so I don't anticipate continuing them. The story "Janie" still has an unfinished feel, so maybe that's next.
