Loved it!

Not that I would ever be encourtaged by a drone story. Nope, not this dron .. erm, me.

Looks innocent

This was fascinating, very well told, an excellent background to explain things and set the tone, and keeps me guessing most of the way through!

First the setting, I love the comments about technology looking like magic, there is enough here to tell us what sorts of things are possible - "anything" - and how come it is coming about, without getting side tracked or bogged down in details that don't matter.  A simple but wonderfully effective piece of world building.

The difference between the wife, stepping deep into something new and quite unknown and the staff, just another work day, is wonderful, and really plays to the world this is set in, and the crazy things that can and do happen there.

I love the feelings and emotions from the wife, the sense of fascination, excitement, desire, and deep unease, at being handed over to a stranger, her own surprise that this is something she finds exciting, while it is also not what she wants...

The scent that overwhelms everything, a simple but very effective way of confusing her senses, isolating her, and making sure she is unsure of who and where!

Really pleased, having finished this, to see that there are 3 more chapters to come, since this really does leave quite a few questions unanswered, and me wanting to know more about what is happening here, who with, and so on
