The story is pretty much exactly my favorite topic of all, but like several of Zoe's recently published stories, the scent of AI writing is all over it and it's missing the touch of a human.  Too many sentences which don't really match what's going on, and repetitive generic statements about the feeling of confinement.

I'm not against using AI to help with creative writing, but it requires a lot of careful prompting and editing to keep it from just being generically boring.

Really? I must confess that 'kinky dungeon tour guide' is a trope I have a soft spot for, so I gave this one a much closer read than most in the editing read-through, and that wasn't the impression it gave me. I get a fair few AI submissions these days, and they stick out like a sore thumb; the repetition they tend to most obviously is over-use of a limited set of euphemisms. They typically have a weird dichotomy where they draw from a much wider vocabulary, so you see words and phrases that stand out as unusual, and yet at the same time keep repeating patterns of phrases. Human writers do that as well, especially when there's a strong theme, but AI writing doesn't seem to have the self-consciousness that works to rein in overuse of any one word or phrase.

Anyway, I've seen a very broad gamut of writing styles, from authors of vastly differing talent levels, and more than a few written in a way that makes me wonder if the writer was feeling any passion at all while writing them. This one, however, to me seems very much "touched by a human", so much so that I have already read ahead the next two parts, and I can tell you that is rare, given the length of the editing queue! Each to their own, though.
