Women as Art

I haven't had as much time to write so I thought I would open up a thought exchange about "women as art". I myself would especially value the opinion of women on this topic, but all are welcome to chime in.

Men are visual creatures and I think that the ones that visit this site like to not only have their senses stimulated, but their minds as well (in my stories, that's why I like to give a few descriptives but leave the women in my stories up to the imagination). When I think of women as art, it may be a form of objectification on a spectrum. I gravitate towards WWII pinups and Vampira (yes, also Bettie Page). I appreciate old-time glossy works of both photos and drawings. There's a modern pinup group on Facebook that I enjoy from time to time, the models are very good looking next to/atop the planes. The expressive "exaggerated" woman who not only has beautiful physical features, but puts the extra effort into hair, makeup, and attire to get the covetous looks of other men is something that pushes a button for me. To quote from the show 'Cougar Town', "Look at me, I'm a schlubby guy, yet I got a hot wife. I made that happen. See that guy over there, he's better looking than me, but his wife is not as hot as mine. If we were to make eye contact, he'd know who won. Yeah, that's right." I love it when my wife does this for me because she knows other's eyes are on her, but she's only for me. I'm not only enjoying how my wife looks, but how others see her as well. Apologies for any offense and yes, it's self-indulgent, but she knows how she makes me feel when I, and others, objectify her in this way. I see her as an artwork that only I get to touch and hold. Another aspect that I go for in terms of women as art is latex fetish wear. I don't know what it is about covering the female form in shiny curve hugging black rubber, but it's very appealing. I also think about the effort to get in and out of it, and the physiological body heat that builds as well. The more appendages/bondage gear... the better 😉 I think there's also an aspect of "look, but don't touch" and maybe even some intimidation at looking upon someone that's out of your league, as it were.

I think appreciation becomes much healthier when it goes both ways and is based on mutual choice rather than expectation. Confidence and personal style can absolutely be part of someone's self expression without reducing them to an object.

I gave some thought to your response and you are correct. I never expect my partner to 'do the full monty' for me. Generally she surprises me whenever she does. And I probably threw around the word "objectify" a bit too flagrantly. I alluded to objectification on a scale, where I admire my wife's looks and appreciate the effort that goes into that (I also enjoy the envious looks she gets when we go out). I think objectification can go from "Goddess worship" to treating a sub as an actual object [tied spreadeagle in a doorway and ignored or used as furniture]. I contend that I fall more in the former end of the scale. It's our own little game/perspective. Likewise she loves it when I get gussied up in a suit and says I resemble John Wick (I think she's really got a thing for him    ). In thinking about us, it has gone both ways; I've seen guys hit on her, and less so she's seen women flirt with me (though she's much quicker to move to my side).

But getting back to my original thought, Google 'Pinup Art' and that's what I subjectively appreciate and my wife knows this and does for me on rare occasions and I adore her for it. If you also Google Blessed Ludovica Albertoni statue, I find that beautiful as well (though the story behind the woman is a bit tragic).
