I don't know how much manual work Teann does, but one really cool thing would be to have a link pointing directly from a given story to the corresponding forum discussion.

I assume there's already some script that creates the discussion... so why not ?

This would (hopefully) help people in engaging in discussion.

(or maybe this would foster more spam... I have zero idea how much traffic goes on that's unnoticed around here)

Yeah, I ran into something similar before. Usually it's just a matter of checking the basics first—connections, alignment, or whether something small is missing or worn out. Little things like that can cause bigger issues than expected.
If you can share a bit more detail (or a pic), it'll be easier to give a more precise answer.
