Closet: In or Out?
« on: May 28, 2018, 11:03:02 pm »
Anyone ever discover that a friend or co-worker or family member is active in the kink scene?

What did you do?

I'm inclined to keep my mouth shut and stay firmly in my closet, but on the other hand...

Mind still reeling.

Well I've sort of had that possibility going to local munches, except I would have been outted to that person as well if it had happened.

I would say use your best judgement, try to gauge their approach-ability against how well you know each other, and how comfortable you feel outing yourself.

The person could make a good play partner or maybe a safety check for each other

Sometimes you wonder, like noticing a female co-worker reading "The General's Daughter" or reading/talking about a 50 Shades book. But no confirmations, too scared and not wanting to reveal that I am in a closet.
The race is long, and in the end it is only with yourself.

I once heard my brother tell my mom that she needed to hold onto a handcuff key for him...just in case he needed it one day.  Not understanding his meaning, she asked 'why?'  He then informed her that it was in case his wife locked him to the bed and left him if they got into an argument.
I did NOT ever need to know this.
