I have a compliment and a critique. I like the story, and your words paint a very clear picture of what is happening, well done on that. But I found the ending disappointing. You place your character into a situation for which there is no resolution.

I definitely think you should keep writing. You have talent and a good imagination. Thank you for sharing your story.
