What could possible go wrong? 

But did people who made this mistake (and I don't mean Sandra or Bill) got punished for it?
Not by sending them to island but by Bill asking company to fix this issue.
Who said nothing can land here?  Helicopters should be able to land (possible ship-based one). Company should pay for rescue operation (their leadership will like it very much).
Also, a lot interesting things could happen in rescue operation.
