Very enjoyable.
I love the scenario. It was good in this short form.
I can easily imagine it as a longer slower story too, with a gradual change instead of a sudden one.

An excellent story. The writing flows deliciously, and we're given enough hints about something to be kept interested and wondering.

I don't agree with the idea of making a 'slower' version of the story - this is good to give us some nice fantasies.
