I am starting to write my thoughts on this while half way through reading the story, since I have already collected quite a few thoughts, and want to start getting them into order, since more thoughts keep on appearing

To start with, we feel dropped into the middle of things, but that isn't a bad thing, since we start with a great deal of emotion, feeling, torment, and raw sexiness, with the massive torment, this teasing, the punishment, this is a very harsh situation!  The belt and its settings seem FAR worse than Helen is prepared for, but Helen did this to herself, by herself, it seems.  Didn't she have some idea, even a small one, of what she was doing and getting into here?  This really isn't clear at the moment.

I am confused as to why the belt seems to punish her when it hears people talking around her.  Not against this at all, it is a VERY wicked, delightfully wicked setting and behaviour, but I am wondering where it came from, and what the thinking is behind it.  It just seems a random thing.  If it was punishing Helen for talking then it would make more sense, since that would be another form of control and dominance from the belt's settings.  But why anyone talking around her?  Then again, it does produce massive torment as she is trying to get to meet Amelie at the cafe, which is delightfully evil!

Then we have the choice of her key holder.  Why choose a friend who seems so set on punishing her?  Why choose someone who seems to angry at the role of unasked, of surprise key holder?

Next another "why" question - when Amelie sees the belt she seems to know what to do, how to control it, how to remove the remote control instantly, and her way around the settings.  This seems a strange level of knowledge, but there is so much we don't know yet that I don't know what to make of this.  But looking at how the belt's settings are changed, Amelie really knows how to work the belt, and is seriously pissed!

Helen dressing up to visit Amelie and beg, loving the slutty outfit, but again, the instructions to dress like that, it speaks to Amelie's anger level.  When Helen gets to the apartment, things start to make a bit more sense.  For whatever reason, Amelie is clearly very familiar with the belt and the other tools that come with it, since she has other tools for Helen to wear, and be punished by, and we get a better insight into why she is so angry, so upset!

The thigh cuffs, Helen being shocked so much for trying to take a bigger stride is a wicked surprise, but also, look at how much delight Amelie takes in this suffering and punishment!  Talk about either a brilliant, or a MASSIVELY STUPID choice of a key holder!

Watching Helen sleeping next to Amelie, how her submission is deepening, it does make me wonder how much of this was the "intention" all along.  Not deliberately it seems, but sub-consciously, setting herself up to fall under Amelie's control, her total, domineering and cruel control...

Finally released, the strength of the conditioning, even after only a week, is striking!  But the story makes clear how strong the conditioning pattern was, how she was constantly teased, pushed to the edge, then punished and denied!  But this also brings out the caring, gentle and loving side of Amelie...  but even then, she is looking at Helen and thinking of her as a chaste submissive...

The ending...  this actually wraps things up very well, brings us full circle, and answers many of the questions that I had formed while reading this.  This is good, without the answers this would be quite irritating.  But with the answers, what really stands out is the sheer intensity of the emotions, feelings and torment that the story is full of and describes, such strong and delicious emotions and torments!

Maybe part of the confusion comes from the fact that on DA, there are three Amelie stories, published in the following order:

• Bitche
• Belted
• Locked

Chronologically, "Locked" is the first one.

A very young Amelie, and her first experience with chastity as a keyholder: Amelie and Jeanette are in a relationship, but Jeanette has serious relationship issues and is reacting to this by seeking quick and meaningless sex with other women, then comes home to a waiting Amelie, hating herself for what she just did. Amelie is ready to drop Jeanette, when Jeanette goes into her room and comes back, begging Amelie to lock her up:

"A chastity belt?" Amelie said, quiet. Not judging. Just... trying to understand. "You want me to lock you up in... this?"

Jeanette nodded quickly, then shook her head, tears already stinging.

"I don't want to want it. I hate that I do. But I can't stop. I keep proving things to people who don't matter. I dress like bait, I flirt, I act like I don't care, like I'm free. I let people use me like I'm disposable and then I come crawling home."

Her voice cracked. She dropped to her knees again, the tiles cold under bare skin, the glittery dress sliding up, exposing the marks between her thighs.

"I'm not free. I'm a mess. I need you to take it away from me. This part of me. This broken part. Just lock it away. Please, Amelie. Please control my cunt. Please."

Amelie blinked. Her face didn't move. She looked down at Jeanette. Then at the belt again.

"I might," she said eventually, thoughtful. "But if I do... I decide. When. If. Ever. You get out."

Jeanette nodded fast. Her lips trembled.

"That's the point," she said. Her throat was tight. "That's all I want."

Next up is Bitche, which is a real place near Strasbourg, with a large cavernous fortress. Amelie works here as a tour guide, and in this story shows off a bunch of medieval torture and punishment instruments (which exist, but aren't actually on display in this place), using one of the women in the tour group as a "volunteer." She invites said volunteer to her home later that day, and things develop from there.

"Belted" is the third Amelie story, she's now an experienced dominant, and knows her things.
