It seems to be a tradition for a person to give chocolate or sweets to a person they love. Perhaps the chocolate is the symbol of giving love, to equate sweetness as a degree of love. So what does it mean when a person encases themselves in chocolate? Are they giving all their love? Are they buying love with their body?
I don't know, but Simpsons did it.

That aside, what kind of stories take the chocolate factory for the wrong (or right) turn? When it comes to trapping people in sugar, the most obvious one comes from Michael England's Jessica Darling (26 chapters). I know there are also a few chocolate statues in the Packaging section and here and there.
