I'm not convinced that "cons" is a correct tag here - especially not without nc and reluct, as well.

I swithered on this one, because the protagonist did put herself into the situation voluntarily, and though it didn't work out as she'd hoped, my reading of it was that she wasn't that unhappy with the notion of what would happen to her as a cow, just that she thought it would be temporary! Of course the drugs / mind-control / conditioning makes it impossible to have sensible consent here, but though a sensible person would probably find the notion of being a slave/cow abhorrent, if the protagonist doesn't, then it isn't non-consensual on that basis alone.

Normally I use 'reluct' when the protagonist doesn't seek out (or resists) their situation but ends up somewhat enjoying it, and 'nc' when they don't seek it out and/or are unhappy with how it turns out; neither of which feel like they really fit here. For similar reasons I considered stuck / caught / accident, only the last of which got close. On reflection probably 'reluct' would apply because she didn't intend to subject herself to the mind-control (just the rest of the cow treatment), but I think 'nc' wouldn't reflect the tone of the story.

There is just something about a hu-cow story that I find exciting, maybe it's the objectification, or the "no way out" scenario, or who know what, but I just like them. This one was different, but still fun, and I liked how you picked up right in the middle of the action, taking the reader along in the initial confusion.

We got almost to the very end until we learned that E-14 had a proper human name, and I'm left to wonder if Lidiya's coworkers will figure out what happened and rescue her, or will they just leave her there and take liberties, or even purchase her for their own. Do the two engineers compete with each other, does one get the better shifts, the better parking spot?

 Anyway, it's a great place to be as an author, you could leave this one as it is as a stand alone piece, or you could have a part two.
