I very much enjoyed this story - thank you.

However, cutting good speaker cable is unforgivable blasphemy! :-)

As for the speaker cable: I guess the usual disclaimer can be extended to account for the special sensibilities of audiophiles:

No speaker cable was harmed or cut during the making of this story.  ;)
