You need to get permission from the author. Asking Gromet for help would be the best place to start.

I agree with Fordman.

All stories, and story ideas / themes, on this site are subject to copywrite of the original author.

You can use the link in the story, to email the author.

Some authors are willing to let others write sequels. Other authors are not so happy.  Many appreciate you sending a draft to them, so they can see what is to be published. Then the both of you, can mutually agree how to proceed.

I have written collaboratively with a few readers. I always credit such works with those who contact me, but I usually write it myself, then I have control what is said in my name. All authors have to make sure stuff sent to Gromet complies with the site rules.

At the end of the day, however, it is their decision and their permission that you need.

Hope that helps.

Daffy

I strongly encourage you to contact the author. I have collaborated with several writers from the Plaza in the past and have ended up with some new friends in the process. One of those new friends has become a Bondage Buddy. So you never know...

Like everyone is saying, just talk with the author if you can. There's no money involved here so I can't imagine rejecting homages outright.

I've been approached before and while I have a couple general requests for someone writing a spin-off/extension of my work (like not killing off major characters), mostly I find it flattering.

I agree with you A Pensive Pen, it can be flattering. But there can also be money involved, some authors here have gone on to sell their work as e-books. Other writers become very attached to their characters. Either way, no one should be offended at being asked or being told no.

Rules here state you've to contact author and get permission.
I did that when I used A Pensive Pen's characters.
