Title: Visiting Glasgow/Edinburgh in Aug/Sept - is there anything happening?

Hi All

I will be in Glasgow and Edinburgh end of August and first week of September this year, and wondering if there are any munches or events on. Also if there are any locals on this board, what are the good places to stay or visit?

Hi. Lots of good restuarants in both city's. Edinburgh tattoo is very good. Last night is 25th august I think. Glasgow Art Gallery well worth a visit. As is transport museum. Edinburgh zoo if you like animals both city centres have great bars. Can recommend some in Glasgow if you like. Hope you have a great time.

Thanks Adam. Unfortunately I arrive on the 28th so will miss the tattoo. Have been to Edinburgh in 2002 but never been to Glasgow, so will certainly check out your suggestions. Have ancestors that were McAllister clan which I believe are located in the Kintyre area, so will hopefully get to see that area this time.

Details of any good bars or restaurants would be very welcome.
