Well that explains the first part of what happened to David's first troublesome wife. Oswald knows some secrets too apparently, and I look forward to their road trip, as well as their final destination. It's an interesting angle for a story too, because all of the main characters have deep flaws, so really none of them are likable in the strictest sense of the word. It's therefore odd that Oswald maybe comes off as the most redeeming character of the bunch, so a nice twist there.
I look forward to the rest of the adventure, and thank you for sharing, Jackie.
Part 2 up tonight, enjoy.
And part 3 rounds up this tale, enjoy.
Fantastic story, I really like this one paired with "The Exit Interview" for seeing the two different tracks the auction house has for its merchandise.
Kitsune, your writing has such a sensuality to it that I appreciate, especially your ability to convey disgust - Oswald is great for that in both stories. The frustration and fear and despair your protagonists experience at the auction house is also a high note for me. Really hope to see more from you particularly if it's in this vein!
Thank you for the comments, I do these stories mostly because it's the sort of story I'd like to read and I believe if someone hasn't written the story you want to make it a reality yourself. Knowing someone actually enjoyed your efforts enough to leave even a short comment however...well it means a lot to know someone enjoyed my hard work so thank you.
So it's certainly a dark tale, but it does sew-up all those loose ends as far as David's first wife is concerned. It's a bit different too in that every character is rather imperfect, so everybody maybe getting what they have coming to them, except for David I suppose. There's just something provocative about a human auction like this too, "sold for sex" and put on display two of my all time favorite fantasy scenarios.
Thank you for sharing, Jackie.
