You are clearly a gifted writer but this story really wasn't for me.
I know some people love the edgyness of a bad ending, but I think that life is too short for depressing smut.
This story reminded me of 'Sin City' as a type of noir. That said the psychological build seemed to fade halfway through. There was a lot of description and narrative going on to paint the picture, too much for me. The effort to create the action could have been relayed quicker to leave more room for S&M scenes. It could have used more dialogue between characters as well and maybe some more build up between her and the lieutenant using her. Lastly, I think there could have been room to incorporate more BDSM elements and if she was reluctant at first, eventually experiencing something akin to satisfaction in the eroticism as her old life became erased. But those are my imaginings as to my alternatives to close it out, entwining the Don's lieutenant and her into a passionate, if not star-crossed, relationship. The alliteration of how each are a dog/pet used and utilized by the Don.
