Mirrors & Photos
« on: August 26, 2016, 06:53:29 pm »
I've enjoyed self bondage for decades and one of the main ingredients for me has always been mirrors. When I'm tied up in front of mirrors (or, better, a set of three so I can see from various angles) I get to play the part of both the captive and the Dom. I can feel the ropes and the restriction as a captive and watch the struggles of my bound prisoner as a Dom. Since I consider myself an almost 50/50 switch, this is a perfect situation. I definitely miss the visual stimulation whenever I play without mirrors.

Several years ago I bought a Nikon DSLR camera with a cordless remote. In the old days of film cameras I wasn't willing to send film off to a processor knowing they'd get a few chuckles out of my self-made porn. Now I can do it all myself. The photos are sometimes used in illustrated stories which are almost entirely for my own amusement (I do share with a few select friends).

Using mirrors and my camera has the added benefit of reminding me if I slip off my exercise routine or overeat. I have no interest in looking at a pudgy prisoner and the mirrors don't lie.

Does anyone else like to watch?

Max,

I like to watch myself as well. I have a computer in my bedroom with a 37" television as my monitor. I have a webcam mounted to the wall which focuses right on my bed. I will turn on my webcam and watch myself on the television during my sessions. I even record some of them and enjoy watching myself deal with my bondage and electrical stimulation. Recording them helps when I decide to play while blindfolded. I can watch myself later.

Even though I consider myself to be primarily a sub (though I do enjoy watching bound women and wouldn't mind having a lady bound for my pleasure) but watching myself deal with, and react to, the torments of my session is a turn-on for me.

Max I also like to watch myself and have over the years progressed from Mirrors . Photo's and videos, now storing everything digitally.

Here are a couple of examples.

Since I usually mix self bondage with crossdressing, the ability to see myself is very important. A couple of .large mirrors, carefully positioned, allow me to see myself struggling against my bonds in whatever sexy clothes I have chosen to wear. It really enhances the effect. I often video myself as well. This allows me to re-live the sessions whenever I like. I can also see where I can make improvements for future sessions. I also use the videos for capturing stills to post on sites such as this. I would really like a remote control so I can be more selective in what I video.

There is a difference between mirrors or live video and a recording. After the desire or passion has died down, one may have a more critical eye when viewing a recorded session later and flaws may be noticeable: distracting background, lighting, camera angle, etc.

I seldom use a mirror since I prefer a blindfold. However, it does seem like while in the heat of desire with a mirror (or live video), the mind tends to filter out unimportant or spurious details so one sees what they want to see instead of everything that is actually there.

I agree that there is a huge difference between mirrors and videoing. I'm a musician and have mentioned before that mirrors are similar to a live show while videos are like a recording session. The same "skills" are required but with a completely different approach to the performance.

As Andreas says, a tiny mistake is magnified when you see it over and over, while in a live performance it's all about attitude and sincerity and a little flub is hardly noticed.

Here are acouple more stills from videos.

the first one is a waist harness that i have been locked in for over three hours
The second shows me in the embarrassing situation of being truly stuck in police style rigid handcuffs (Yes, key holes towards elbows) I had to text a friend (using my nose to type) to ask them to come and free me.

Oops on the rigids Jimdini...I'm not sure if I could get out of them with keyhole towards the hand. Swivle cuffs give me a hard time...especially behind my back.

Dana,
As a compromise between swivel chain and rigid cuffs I use Alcyon universal joint cuffs. They allow movement of the wrists so you can get the key in if the keyhole is towards the elbows. I do find them more secure than standard chain cuffs (I have unlocked standard cuffs with wrists back to back LE style) and found them escape proof if locked up Law Enforcement style.

Thanks Jim,

During my Corrections Officer days, we primarily used S&W's and Peerless. Both swivel chain styled. I am quite familiar with both and the proper way to secure them. Peerless being easier to double-lock as it has a 'push-in' style doulble lock activator as Smith's have a slide style.

I am unfamiliar with the Alcyon. Is the swivel limited in travel of spin? They look to be secure enough.

Dana,
Your welcome. The Swivel is total 360 degrees or more but the joint is limited to approximately 90 degrees. Compressed the wrist are held 2 and a half inches apart but the cuffs will only swivel the hoops stay at 180 degrees. at full extension you cantwist and turn your wrists enough to unlock them with a standard cuff key behind your back (as long as your arms are free) but if cuffed back to back there is not enough play in the joint.

Interesting Jim. Look like they have a S&W style double-lock system. I may have to check them out when I am in the market to purchase more handcuffs. I need to see if Galls, a police tactical web-store, carries them. Believe it or not, they have quite reasonable prices.
